The Volcano Café
This year at Kaleidoscope we are lucky that it appears that
we have lined someone up to take over the food vending at Area 51! Melanie has been helping out with her
family’s restaurant business since she was knee high to a grass fairy, so
(although a newbie to Fest) she should be well-suited to hanging out with
us. Incidentally, she herself is
vegetarian, so there will be vegetarian options on the menu. Yeah!
Welcome, Melanie!
- Location: The Volcano Café is in
exactly the same location at Area 51.
(Imagine that!)
- Hours: The VC will probably be
open from about 8 until about 8, with a few hour break
at some point in the day.
- Days: Gearing up for the Volcano
Café should occur on Wednesday evening, going full steam ahead, until
coasting to a stop on Monday morning.
- Cost: Specials for dinner (with
rice/salad) should be somewhere under $10.
While burger-type meals with chips/salad/rice should run around $5.
- Breakfast Menu: Breakfast on most days will be
Continental style, but an effort will be made to have something yummy and
hot for breakfast on the weekend.
- Daily Menu: Things like burgers,
sausages, hot dogs (maybe even some pogo dogs) will be offered throughout
the majority of Fest.
- Dinner Menu: Specials for dinner
will change by the day and some pretty great ideas that are possibilities
at the moment are wraps (chicken; grilled vegetable), perogies,
burritos (beef; vegetarian). There
could even be chili and corn bread, curry or spaghetti, but things aren’t
nailed down yet.
- Snacks and Drinks: There will be
an offering of pop and iced tea/lemonade with frozen fruit ice cubes. Also, there are rumours
there will also be fruit smoothies, iced coffees and lots of yummy snacks,
too.
